Section 23
Disposition versions
23. During the operation of a ride, the following minimum clearances shall be complied with:
(1) 600 mm between a structural member and any point of the carrier in contact with the user;
(2) 1,200 mm of vertical clearance between the seat and any fixed structural member located above such seat;
(3) 2,000 mm of vertical clearance between the floor in front of the seat and any fixed structural member located above such floor, where the user is not restrained in the carrier seat.
This section does not apply to a carrier which is enclosed or equipped, at the locations prescribed in subsections 1 to 3, with an openwork wire mesh preventing a 38-mm diameter spherical object from going through or 50-mm in the case of a ride to be used solely by adults.
